“Me love you long time” could
have several translations like…
1. I’ve known you for so long you
are a friend of mine but is this all we'd ever be?
2. Saw your worst and I still stayed.
3. After all this time, it’s
still you.
But this original line was
actually delivered by a Vietnamese hooker offering her services to two American
GIs in broad daylight in the 1987 Stanley Kubrick film Full Metal Jacket. The scene wasn’t romantic or heartbreaking at all.
Me Love You Long Time Restaurant in Tomas Morato was inspired by this famous
movie line.
