Nami Island, South Korea

I still fall for you every winter.

Historically, it is known as the site of the grave of General Nami, a young Korean hero who led a great victory against the rebels during the reign of King Sejo of the Joseon Dynasty in the 14th century. But to many, Namiseom or Nami Island is the most romantic backdrop of South Korea for lovers (particularly the Metasequoia Lane), thanks to the hit Koeanovela Winter Sonata.

Nami island can be reached via shuttle bus from Insadong, Seoul that leaves at 9:30 am everyday. Travel time takes about two hours. Upon arrival at the wharf station, take a ferry for 5 minutes going to the island. If taking a train from Seoul, the last station to get off is Gapyeong Station. There are scheduled shuttle buses going to the wharf, every hour.
