The Legend Villas

I enjoy reading alamat or Philippine legends when I was young. They provide interesting stories, historical accounts and probable origins of some things and mysteries surrounding us. Even now that I’m older, I fondly recall how I used to believe them. It may be partly because thru legends I could travel back in time when life was still simpler and old-fashioned. Such is also the feeling once you step inside the Legend Villas. It’s like coming home to traditional Filipino elegance and hospitality.

Set in the midst of a bustling metropolis in Mandaluyong, The Legend is a place where anyone could relax, unwind, and feel at home.

Who would not fall for the warm-toned and vintage furnishings of the lobby?

Children and young at heart could also play tic-tac-toe, dama, and sungka.

The Lola Maria Restaurant serves affordable buffet and ala carte menus, mainly consisting of favorite Filipino food.

There is an underlying coziness in the design and amenities of their villa.

The pool also looks inviting.

It was really nice to be back at The Legend. It is an experience so familiar, so comfortable, beyond its old-world charm. Sometimes the mind ought to be diverted from the stresses of the office so it may return to its peaceful thinking.

Banzai: The Great Teppanyaki Theater

There are three things you must remember once you enter Banzai - forget the Ninja diet, be prepared for the live teppanyaki-style cooking spectacle, and have an appetite of a sumo wrestler.

Banzai claims to be the “biggest teppanyaki buffet restaurant in the world.” It has a massive area of 1,200 square meters and a maximum seating capacity of 300 people. Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cooking that uses an iron plate. And truly, the chefs skillfully prepare the food using their theatrical skills, right before your very eyes.

Enjoy unlimited sushi, sashimi and rolls, takoyaki, wasabi, tonkatsu, peking duck, teppanyaki and even Milo. And when you are really stressed out just do some ninja moves and shout "Banzai!"
