The Black Pig: Charcuterie, Bar and Restaurant

The only way you can tell that someone really cares for you is if they’re not afraid to tell how bad you are when you are so mean, or how disappointed they are for your action or inaction on things that matter.

While pigging out at The Black Pig last weekend, I overheard a teenage girl telling her girlfriends how disappointed she was that someone she likes took her to food court on their first date. Her girlfriends were telling her “OMG!”, “What?!”, “Hindi man lang nag-effort”. Actually natawa rin ako. It was not daw an issue wherever they eat, it’s just that she wanted sana their first date to be romantic and memorable. But she pretended na lang that everything was okay.

With its laid-back ambiance and attractively-plated good food, The Black Pig would have made a nice date place for them.

Complimentary bread

Beetroot and burrata organic salad

Tea poached salmon

Slow cooked pork belly

Charcuterie board

Banana cheesecake with salted peanut butter ice cream

Sometimes, we can hurt ourselves more than anyone can hurt us by being untruthful. There may be a reason why we keep it all inside. But I don’t know who let the pigs out.
