Chef Laudico Guevarra’s

Chef Roland Laudico (aka Chef Lau) is a Philippine celebrity chef. He was one of the resident chef judges of Master Chef Pinoy and Junior Master Chef Pinoy. He also regularly serves as Pop Talk reviewer when it comes to choosing the pop or flop restaurants in the country.

His Filipino buffet restaurant - Chef Laudico Guevarra’s – is a popular dining place among families and big groups in San Juan. The eponymous 1920s heritage house turned restaurant also pays tribute to Pedro Guevarra, a Filipino soldier, a lawyer, and a politician. Guevarra worked tirelessly for the passage of the Tydings-McDuffie Law which established the Philippine Commonwealth and eventually its independence in 10 years time.

The restaurant is known for its superb Filipino spreads (my favorite are kaldereta, fried chicken adobo, angus beef tapa, sapin-sapin cake and DIY halo-halo), homey ambience that matches its vintage interiors and complemented by a  wonderful garden. The rates are also reasonably priced. Many local celebrities and personalities rave about their dining experience at Guevarra’s thru the signed plates that are prominently displayed in various dining areas.

In two or few years time, the ancestral house is turning 100.

I'm ninety nine for a moment, dying for just another moment.
